HevnSent Lagotto Romagnolos - Welcome

After many years of breeding Australian Shepherds, we decided in 2006 to go searching for a breed that met our idea of a perfect pet dog. We wanted something a bit smaller than an Aussie, something with a bit less drive but still active and willing to please, something that was generally friendly towards people and other dogs without requiring extensive socialisation and training, and something that didn't leave bucket loads of hair in the house, in the car, in our food and on our clothes.

After months of searching we came across Lagottos and soon after purchased our first puppy, the adorable Nugold Giovanna, rapidly nicknamed RiffRaff. Miss Raffle proved to be everything we were looking for and more. Smart and active but gentle and forgiving, friendly to everyone and everything, easy to manage in terms of coat care (after we went shopping for some clippers) and just a real pleasure to have around.

Riff had her first litter early in 2009 and was, predictably, a wonderful mother. She has since been joined in our growing Lagotto family by three of her daughters and by two males, Hamish and Harry.

We don't go to dog shows so if you want to meet them you'll need to come visit - but visitors are always very welcome at the farm. It's a lovely two hour drive from Melbourne on major roads and is easy to find.
